I love the movie awards season because not only do I get to watch great movies for months but also because I love watching the stars walk the red carpet. The Golden Globes is a unique awards show because it combines movies and television - two of my most favorite favs - and the stars usually attend and act happy to be there! The fact that a little known or understood entity, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, picks the awards does not really affect me at all except that I mostly copy all of their winners when I fill out my pretend Oscar ballot a few weeks later.
Below are a few of my favorite dresses of the night in no particular oder. And like most "Best Dressed" websites or reviewers I don't pick actresses because I like them or the movie/tv show they are in, I really just like the dresses. So no Angelina or Sandra on my list tonight. And one more thing, I don't waste my time talking about the guys, because, well that's ridiculous. A tux is a tux. Sorry guys.
Mila Kunis from Black Swan
The color looks fantastic on her with her dark features and the one-shoulder strap was definitely a trend tonight.

Amy Adams from The Fighter
I really like the color and overall awesome-ness of this dress. It's probably my favorite.

Lea Michele from Glee
Another one-shoulder dress! The ruffles and side train really make the dress a winner.

Julie Bowen from Modern Family
I'm not crazy about the color, but I love the dress and I thought it looked lovely on her.

Catherine Zeta Jones
I actually did not see her all night, but found her on the internet later. I love the heavy draping on the dress and I imagine it looks even better in person.

Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory
The color is just okay for me here as well, but I thought the dress looked great on her. Although you can't see it from this shot her hair, which is normally shoulder length, was in a loose, long ponytail and it looked oddly great with an evening gown.

Jennifer Love Hewitt from The Client List
This is more of an honorable mention because I think the dress looks sort of like a wedding dress constructed into a ball gown. I also sort of wonder how far the waiters could see down the top of her gown. On the flip side, I LOVED her hair and makeup and I noticed that throughout the night the camera stopped on her really for no reason other than because she just looked so gorgeous!

This is all just a taste of what's to come at The Oscars. I will need to finish watching as many of the nominated films as I can, and tonight really got me interested in a few movies that I didn't initially think I would want to see (or had ever heard of). Next on my list are The Fighter and The King's Speech.
