Last week I was out of town all week and when I came back home the first things I saw made me squeal with delight - my yard is starting to blossom with Spring!
My favorite - the hydrandeas are sprouting leaves!!
Brad will probably be angry that I posted these before we put out our new mulch, but I'll show them off again later. I love these!
The trees are starting to bloom too!
I promise these rose bushes were just sticks last week!
I really don't know what these things are called, but for a while I thought they weren't going to grow at all and now they are several inches taller.
And lastly, I was most excited about these babies - my tulips at our mailbox. I have tulips planted all over, but I was especially worried about these because unbeknownst to me, Brad had put some weed fabric over this area. So when I mentioned the other day that I was surprised our tulips weren't coming up he said he needed to take the weed fabric off and I was so worried that the tulips might not make it because flowers can't grow through the weed fabric unless you cut holes for them. I wished I had taken a picture, but when he removed the weed fabric it looked like neon yellow worms sticking out of the ground - not good!! I thought the tulips were goners, but when we came back this is what we saw and I knew they had made it!
I just love putting something in the ground and letting it grow. I think it's a great gift from God that we get to look at flowers and trees blooming and a reminder that so many good things can come after those long cold days of winter. Welcome back Spring!
